This morning was our ward clean up. I have never been to one before, and I don't know if I will ever go to another one again.
First of all... I had to get up at 7:30 (on my day off), that was not a good beginning. Well I slap on my yoga clothes because they are comfortable and easy to wash. Put my hair in a pony tail and a bandanna and off I go to bishop's house for assignments and donuts.
I was paired up with the RS president and we go to a sister's house who needs help cleaning off the back porch. We got there at there were about 10 other people there hauling... stuff.
I think leaves, but no. It was 3 or 4 beds that have been left out all winter long and were dripping with water. Very heavy. couches that had the stuffing torn out of them from the dog. bags upon bags upon bags of I don't know what but very heavy. Someone had a chain saw and took down several truck loads of branches. It was a lot of work. After we were done I was very thirsty, but no rest for the weary.
Next was on to another sister's house and de-grassed her raspberry plants. That took about 1 1/2 hrs. After that I went back to headquarters but all the jobs were assigned and the only thing left was the chipper but there were 15 people helping with that so I walked home had about 6 glasses of water, took a hot hot HOT shower and slept for about 2 hrs.
It was a hard day, but I think I will do it again next year.

There is just not an equal to service. It seems the server always gets blessed. You are amazing to start so early. Did it rain as predicted?
